More so than any composer and lyricist who have written for the stage, the songs of Rodgers and Hammerstein have become an integral part of our everyday lives. We sing them in the shower, we dance to them in ballrooms, we hear them on the radio and in clubs and, yes, in elevators and supermarkets too.
Tri-Valley Repertory Theatre's Broadway Chorus will perform SOME ENCHANTED EVENING®: The Songs of RODGERS AND HAMMERSTEIN, an evening of music from all the favorite Rodgers and Hammerstein shows. The audience will hear favorites such as: "There is Nothing Like a Dame", "I Enjoy Being a Girl", "It's a Grand Night for Singing", "Climb Every Mountain" and, of course, "Some Enchanted Evening".
Now some sixty years later, the classic musicals that changed theater forever are still cherished today by fans of all ages. Broadway Chorus will treat the audience to an evening of this wonderful and unforgettable music that will leave them singing and tapping their toes all the way home.
The show is directed by Jenny Matteucci and will feature two pianos played by Cesar Cancino and Hadley McCarroll along with Daniel Lockert.
The show will also feature the Broadway Kids Chorus, made up of local children in grades 1-8, directed by Jenny Matteucci and Leslie Roadarmel.
The three performances will be held on Friday, May 20 at 8 PM, Saturday, May 21 at 8 PM and Sunday, May 22 at 2 PM at Amador Theater, 1155 Santa Rita Road in Pleasanton.
